AGE OF STAIN. Most fresh stains can be removed from the carpet's fibre by an application of an appropriate chemical/stain remover.
Usually a carpet cleaner is called to attempt the stain removal procedure well after the staining liquid had time to break down the surface tension of the fibre.
After wetting, the stain is absorbed by and reacts with the fibre.
Following this reaction the stain dries out and sets on the fibre.
